EYELASH EXTENSIONS VS EYELASH LIFTING
We’ll be honest, we had no idea ladies are so into eyelash lifting in Boston. If you haven’t tried either and not sure which is the right fit for you, hopefully this guide will help you out.
Define both, please.
So eyelash extensions are synthetic eyelashes that are placed on your natural lashes individually to create length and a “mascara-on-100%-of-the-time” look.
The classic eyelash extension service involves placing one synthetic lash to one natural lash; if you wanted more volume, we place 2-3 lighter lashes per natural lash to create a more dramatic, volume look.
Lasts: (depending on the set), 2-4 weeks. You get an initial full set and for maintenance, you would get them refilled.
Cost: $75 for our lightest initial set, then pricing goes up from there. Our lightest fill is $55.
Pros: Adds length, more drama, and more volume for their lashes. Volume lashes are especially recommended for those of you with sparse lashes to fill’em out. You can also literally change the appearance of your eyes with these babies.
Cons: You would need to budget for them for regular maintenance. They also need TLC. To make them last longer, it is highly recommended that you make some lifestyle changes and take extra care.
Eyelash lifting is done by applying perming lotion to your natural eyelashes to perm and lift them.
Lasts: (depending your lashes), 6-8 weeks. To maintain, you would come in for the same procedure.
Cost: $55 for the lift only, and $75 for the lift + tint.
Pros: Lash lifting is great for those of you who want the natural lift which adds drama and an already curled look to your natural lashes (if you have lighter lashes, might want to go for the tint too). Also it’s a more natural look compared to the extensions. It also lasts longer and it’s less expensive to maintain.
Cons: You are working with your natural lashes, so if you’ve got shorter lashes, they can only be lifted so much. You also wouldn’t be doing much in the way of adding volume.
If you’ve been blessed with naturally insanely long lashes, prefer a more natural look with some lift or if you’re saving for a downpayment, eyelash lifting may be a better fit for you. It’s definitely more cost effective and requires less maintenance compared to the extensions. If you’re OK with some lifestyle changes (not sleeping on your face or letting shower water blast you in the eyes) and are wanting to add some every day drama and length, you should definitely try out the extensions.
Curious? Try it out.
